When I wrote about my high expectations for iPhone 6 back in August 2014, I was mainly focused on what I expected to be share gains among the top five smartphone makers (including companies such as Samsung (OTC:SSNLF) and Xiaomi) and restoring Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) to double-digit revenue and profit growth. The December quarter exceeded my wildest expectations, but it did even more, as revealed in the latest data from IDC on smartphone operating system market share.
