Fossil (NASDAQ:FOSL) was one of the first partners for Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Android Wear last year. That's not surprising given that Fossil commands 45% of the U.S. fashion watch market. However, Fossil has been slow to adopt Android Wear into its watches, falling behind Samsung (OTC:SSNLF), LG and Motorola in wearable technology. Nevertheless, Fossil is finally ready to launch its own smartwatch, outlined in its recent Investor Day. But given its lack of urgency to enter the market, and Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) near-term watch launch, the best Fossil investors can hope for is that it becomes the next Pandora (NYSE:P). To elaborate on Fossil becoming the next Pandora, investors must remember that there was a time when Pandora controlled much of the internet radio market, at least on mobile devices.
